Kolodko’s rabbit peers through binoculars from near Sándor Palace toward Pest and the Chain Bridge. He comes from the beloved Hungarian cartoon series «A kockásfülű nyúl» (produced 1974–1976, first broadcast 1977–1979, written by Veronika Marék, directed by Zsolt Richly): the rabbit uses his long, checkered ears like a propeller to fly.

In the series, he always sets off on his adventures from an elevated vantage point, scanning for new destinations through his binoculars — exactly the scene Kolodko’s miniature captures. The character remains one of the most beloved Hungarian cartoon figures of the 1970s.
