A Russian fur hat (ushanka) cast in bronze, with bizarre frog legs poking out from underneath, placed on a small stone cushion — the 2023 sequel to a genuine art-world crime story.

In 2019 Kolodko placed a simple ushanka on a velvet cushion at Szabadság tér, right next to the controversial Soviet war memorial – a comment on Russia's continuing influence on Hungarian politics. On 25 November 2019 it was destroyed by Mi Hazánk MP Erik Fülöp, who threw the hat into the Danube, believing it to be a totalitarian symbol.

In January 2020, Kolodko first responded with the axe itself as a new work (see "The Axe"). Then in 2023 came the humorous sequel: the hat – mutated, with frog legs – has returned from the depths of the Danube. "Visszatér" simply means "returns".

AddressOn a step by the Danube, Antall József rakpart, behind the Parliament, not far from a parking garage entrance.
